Health technology startup Cureatr announced today that it has raised $13 million in Series B financing from a group led by Manhattan's Deerfield Investments. The company's software is used by providers including Montefiore, DaVita HealthCare Partners and the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. Its product allows for secure messaging between doctors and nurses. But the company believes its real value comes from an ability to help coordinate care among primary care doctors, specialists, and hospitals and other facilities.
